Description
Stories are a fundamental aspect of being human, and inevitably intertwined with the dimension of Time. This studio explores the rudiments of storytelling through both static and moving images, investigating how to convey the passage of time through environments and atmospheres, characters and narrative lines. Students will use a variety of analog and digital media to create their own short sequential stories and learn the basics about storyboarding, camera angles, and motion and/or video editing. They will use photography to elucidate elements of light and RGB color, depth and focus, motion and rhythm, while experimenting with sound and language (speech and/or text) for conveying meaning. Classes will consist of short talks and demonstrations, followed by practice exercises and projects.
