3D Art for Games
Film & Media
MAIN
Description
This studio introduces students to the entire 3D art pipeline, from model creation to integration in a functional interactive demo. During the course students will learn how to create, edit, and render 3D models using computer graphics software (e.g. Blender, Maya), taking a project through the 3D art pipeline for creating and integrating 3D models into digital games and interactive media. Through technique-based exercises students develop skills for navigating the digital 3D workspace, creating objects and characters, managing surfaces and properties, generating textures and maps, and rendering models. Students also learn retopology, rigging, and a selected animation strategy (keyframe, motion capture, or game engine-based) to produce a functional demo of their model project.
