Description
The focus of this course is linking vocal production with language, investigating the manners and placements of speech actions within the vocal tract, as well as discovering creative possibilities in the sounds and the words themselves.
Students will develop a working understanding of the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), acquiring technical understanding of the physical actions of distinct speech sounds, along with movement based exploration of the sounds themselves. The goal is to infuse language with life, deepening curiosity of the inherent nature of individual sounds, in order to discover the limitless opportunities in the words we speak.
