Description
Color : Theory + Practice explores the dynamic nature of color in physical spaces and across design and visual arts disciplines. Through museum visits and field trips, students will examine and document historical as well as diverse cultural perspectives on color. Through hands-on exploration at the studio, they will engage with both analog and digital color, studying color models, properties, contrasts, harmonies, perception, and psychology. The course balances critical analysis with practical application, allowing students to develop a nuanced understanding of color’s complexities. By semester’s end, they will possess both the technical skills and conceptual awareness necessary to apply color with intention and proficiency.
