Production Practices

Description

This course teaches students more complex production practices for larger crews and complicated sets. Students further develop the collaborative concepts and technical skills from their first year (Essential Tools, Creative Collaboration) in learning how to use time, space, resources, and effective communication to safely achieve maximum creative results. Students spend time learning roles like Assistant Director, Script Supervisor, and DIT, and workflows for using walkie talkies, remote video and focus, and more complex camera-builds. Students apply this knowledge by assisting on-set with 4th year capstone projects, and further refine it through collaborative in-class exercises and group films.
